In collaboration with the Mississippi Department of Transportation and Key Constructors, FasTrac Hybrid Polymer Concrete (HPC700) was used to to install a bridge deck overlay on Yazoo Bridge in Yazoo County, MS.
Hybrid Polymer Concrete is strong like concrete, yet remains flexible like asphalt. It will carry heavy loads while retaining a high degree of flexibility, has excellent bond strength and will move with the material that it is bonded to.
The custom FasTrac Volumetric Mixer was used to mix the Hybrid Polymer Concrete on-site. The Volumetric Mixer mixes the two-part resin system perfectly to ensure a consistent mix at all times. The specially designed paving machine put the Hybrid Polymer Concrete down from a half inch overlay up to twelve inches thick if necessary. A friction aggregate was then dispensed with FasTrac’s custom aggregate spreader, which not only provides added safety, but a smooth ride for years to come.
